PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE POTENTIAL INTRODUCTION OF OPEN OR SEMI-OPEN ADOPTION IN IRELAND - ONLINE SURVEY

PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE POTENTIAL INTRODUCTION OF OPEN OR SEMI-OPEN ADOPTION IN IRELAND - ONLINE SURVEY

The Department of Children and Youth Affairs is seeking your opinions and those of the public to inform a review on the potential introduction of open or semi-open adoption in Ireland. The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs has committed to laying a report based on this review and consultation before the Oireachtas by November 2019.

The Department has made available an online public questionnaire which can be found on the Department's website. The questionnaire seeks your views in relation to your personal or professional experiences of post-adoption contact and information-sharing, if any; your opinion about the benefits and difficulties involved in open or semi-open adoption; and your view on whether the State should provide for open/semi-open adoption and what form, if any, this provision should take. There is also space for you to share your general views in relation to the review.

The survey is now live and will run until Friday June 7th 2019.

By answering this short survey, you will provide valuable assistance to the Department in carrying out its review on the potential introduction of open or semi-open adoption in Ireland.
