Birth Father Register

If you are aware that the mother of your child intends to place the child for adoption without letting you know or against your wishes, or you are concerned that this might happen, you can notify the Authority that you wish to be notified and consulted if this comes to pass. 

You can do this even before the child is born if necessary. 

The Authority then records the details provided by you on the Birth Father Register. This register is checked against all applications for adoption.

  1. Complete and submit the online form below.
  2. After you complete the form, you will receive written confirmation that your details have been entered on the Birth Father Register.
  3. In the event that an application comes to the Adoption Authority for the adoption of the child that you have identified, you will be contacted by the Adoption Authority.
