Who is Sheila Lavery?
Ø Sheila became a parent through adoption 17 year ago
Ø Sheila is the author of 'Let's Learn Together', a guide for parents and teachers of adopted children in Northern Ireland http://www.adoptionuk.org/sites/default/files/documents/LetsLearnTogetherNIMarch2013.pdf
Ø Sheila has been a trainer for over 14 years working with parents, teachers and social work professionals about attachment, trauma, foetal alcohol spectrum disorder, therapeutic parenting, life story work and Theraplay
Ø Sheila is the project coordinator of TESSA (Therapeutic and Education Support Services in Adoption) Northern Ireland

Objectives of the f workshop to:
· accept that some children have specific educational needs related to attachment and trauma.
· recognise the effects of developmental trauma in school.
· illustrate how relationship, not reinforcement builds self-regulation and motivation.
· explore practical support strategies.
